One thing Keita won’t do is rest on his laurels. Currently working on projects with the New York-based Japanese band J-Squad, the world music supergroup Bokanté, Camila Meza and the Nectar Orchestra, and touring with Snarky Puppy, the group he founded, Keita stays busy.
Known for versatility and genre-defying styles, Snarky Puppy percussionist Keita Ogawa is in high demand, thanks to the unique multi-cultural, multi-genre qualities he brings to each project. Born in Nagasaki, Japan, schooled at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, with music study sabbaticals in Brazil, Keita has worked with some of the biggest names in modern music including Yo-Yo-Ma, Charlie Hunter, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and more.
Still, his many collaborative projects don’t detract from his work with Snarky Puppy. As a founding member, Keita takes every chance he can to experiment with both sound and visuals. On tour, he packs the Zoom Q2n-4K to give fans a taste of the on-stage experience, tinkering with camera angles and seamless recording to bring home a performance like they’ve never seen before.
The Q2n-4K is super compact, lightweight and so simple to use. And the video quality is super clear, especially in concert light situations, so it’s perfect for outdoor festivals, big concert halls and small live house gigs. And the audio is the pristine quality for which Zoom is known.”
