Paul Reid is a highly respected guitarist, session musician, and musical director based in the West Midlands in the UK.
Drawn to music by the church and worship band community in Birmingham, Paul originally had it mind to play drums. But when his father, a minister, needed to add a musical touch to his church, Paul changed directions and picked up a guitar instead.
With his guitar in hand, Paul discovered that he had a natural aptitude for the instrument. Soon his varied playing style and ability to easily adapt to different genres earned him high praise from other guitarists.
Recording sessions and live performances quickly followed, and Paul found himself playing alongside many artists at the recommendation of professional guitar players who appreciated his style. This eventually landed him a gig as a musical director where he had the opportunity to work with artists like Jaki Graham, Liberty X and Billy Crawford.
In 1999, Paul met and played with singer-songwriter Beverley Knight and was immediately asked if he was available to tour. Since then, Paul has been an integral part of Beverley’s music, acting as both guitarist and musical director.
Today, he’s exploring other aspects of the music industry. He’s currently producing records, mentoring artists, and working on his own debut album.
